JEFF MACDONALD
PRESERVATION SPECIALIST
Mr. MacDonald is the Lead Preservation Specialist for the Montana Heritage
Commission, where his duties involve assessment, documentation, and
treatment to over 200 historic structures owned by the State of Montana,
within the Virginia City National Historic Landmark district. His continuing
efforts there include the creation of a sustained western regional historic
preservation research and training facility utilizing the unique resources
of the site, and developing cooperative partnerships on the local, regional,
and national level.
Mr. MacDonald has presented lectures and workshops as well as conducting
fieldwork and research from Massachusetts to Florida, and holds a personal
dedication to the advancement of preservation education worldwide. He
holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Massachusetts
and a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Historic Preservation from the Savannah
College of Art & Design in Georgia.
